Warner Bros. restructures UK production

Warner Bros. is reorganising following the news that its UK production bosses are leaving. Its UK-based prodcos will sit within its international production division under Ronald Goes under the new structure.

ronald goesThe UK operations span Wall to Wall, Twenty Twenty, Ricochet, Yalli and Renegade. They became part of Warner Bros. Television Production UK (WBTVPUK) after Warner Bros. took control of Shed Media, which was previously the umbrella brand, in 2014.

Claire Hungate and Nick Emmerson’s exit has caused the restructure, and today the studio said the WBTVPUK entities will now be part of the wider Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) operation.

Each of the UK prodco bosses will now report directly to Ronald Goes, executive VP, WBITVP.

Warner Bros. said the restructure will allow the individual prodcps to better leverage their IP internationally and get away local versions of their shows.

“This is an exciting time for Warner Bros. International Television Production,’ said Jeffrey Schlesinger, president, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution.

“With this restructure, we can better empower the experienced and talented executives of our production companies here in the UK to do what they do best – develop and produce great programming and franchises.’’

The Warner Bros. international TV boss added that the restructure means greater opportunity for the prodcos internationally and in the UK.

He said: “With better access to resources of the global production and distribution operations unit already based in London, this should result in greater strategic alignment, operational efficiencies and support for each of the production companies to build their business, grow their presence and achieve even more success in the UK production market.”

Hungate and Emmerson’s next moves are not known.
