Komixx, Worldwide team for Stanley the Hamster

Kids-headerStanley the Can Do HamsterKids prodco Komixx and BBC Worldwide are joining forces for the first time and working up Stanley the Can-Do Hamster, an animated preschool series based on the William Bee series of Stanley books.

Komixx will produce and Worldwide exec produce and take rights for its UK and international CBeebies net.

Author and illustrator Bee will be the art director on the TV adaptation of his book series.

The show follows Stanley, a helpful hamster who runs a repairs shop and helps his riverside neighbours fix things.

Andrew Cole-Bulgin, joint CEO at Komixx said: “We are hugely excited to confirm this agreement with BBC Worldwide for Stanley the Can-Do Hamster, which not only reaffirms our expertise in identifying quality children’s IP for TV but is a testament to the great potential of this property.”

Henrietta Hurford-Jones, director of CBeebies investment, BBC Worldwide added: “We are looking forward to bringing these fantastic characters and stories to life and introducing them to viewers across the globe.”
