Octonauts prodco brings in former Disney exec

Kids prodco Silvergate has hired former Disney Studios Lat Am CFO Jeff Farnath as its new finance chief.

The new recruit joins the Octonauts and Peter Rabbit producer from Discovery-backed digital lifestyle brand Thrillist Media Group.

He has also worked at Classic Media (now part of DreamWorks) and been CEO of Coraline prodco Laika Entertainment.

At London and New York-based Silvergate he will be CFO.

Waheed Alli, CEO at Silvergate Media said: “Jeff will play a key role as we invest in and widen the international reach of our creative content, build our production capabilities and look to widen our international reach.”

Silvergate was majority acquired by private equity firm Shamrock last year and the company is seeking to expand the IP it owns, build a greater digital presence, and expand its activities in China.
