TVN to stream Drone Racing League

TVN is set to debut Drone Racing League in Poland via its over-the-top streaming service player.pl.

DRL races will be available to view via player.pl’s premium Player Plus pay-monthly offering.

“Drone Racing League is a sport of the future,” said TVN in a statement. “Complicated tracks and remarkable speed up to 160km/h, makes it the most extreme sport discipline in the world.”

The news comes as broadcaster interest in drone racingcontinues to grow. In September Drone Racing League raised a US$12 million funding round, which included participation from Sky, ProSiebenSat.1, MGM and A+E backer Hearst.

Individuals that also invested in DRL included former MTG Digital chief Rikard Steiber, who is now an senior VP at HTC’s VR division, Vive, Machinima co-founder Allen Debevoise, and Matthew Bellamy, lead singer of the rock band Muse.
