Spanish net settles under Wishing Tree

A Spanish broadcaster has become the latest to acquire a local version of Talpa Media format The Wishing Tree.

Pubcaster RTVE has bought the format, taking the overall number of territories to take the show towards ten.

Previous deals include VTM taking it in Belgium, ITV piloting it in the UK, Antenna Group buying it for Greece and Globo acquiring it in Brazil.

“The pure and moving nature of The Wishing Tree has a global appeal,” said Talpa Global managing director Maarten Meijs. “We’re thrilled to be working together with RTVE in such an inspiring show and believe the format has found a great home in Spain.”
