Autentic profiles King of Cocaland

Germany’s Autentic Distribution is launching a 1x52mins doc examining Peru’s role as a global cocaine production centre.

King of Cocaland – UN Losing War of Drugs comes from filmmaker Wilfried Huisman, and looks at how Peru still became a major drug producer despite a 30pyear UN programme spearheaded by German Jochen Wiese that created alternative employment for 27,000 farming families.

Autentic is also debuting The IS Network – Terror in Europe, a 1x45mins doc from ARD that investigates the radicalised networks in Belgium. In contrast, ZDF/Arte copro Heights of Delights is billed as a cheerful series in which a team visits remote and familiar mountainous regions of Europe to discover their culinary delicacies.

Also on the slate is 2x52mins 75 Years of SUV, which traces the rise of the ‘sports utility vehicle’; and an eSports-themed doc, World of Games – The Rise of eSports.

Autentic Distribution is a joint venture between German prodco Autentic and the regional broadcaster WDR Mediagroup.
