Amazon to witness BBC Worldwide’s Incident

Scripted-logo-460_2Amazon Prime Video has acquired exclusive US rights to Australian drama The Kettering Incident.

The series will be made available to subs on September 30 following an agreement between Amazon and BBC Worldwide North America.

The series, shot in Tasmania, tells the story of a female doctor who returns to her home town 15 years after her best friend disappeared their when they were teenagers.

Foxtel commissioned the show in Australia, attaching Porchlight Films to produce it. Sweet Potato Films is associate producer.

Victoria Madden is the showrunner, with Liz Watts, Anita Sheehan and Foxtel head of drama Penny Win executive producing.

“Amazon is already home to two of our most beloved programs, Doctor Who and Orphan Black, and we believe it is the perfect place for this rarefied story as it ventures into American homes,” said Matt Forde, executive VP, content production, sales and distribution, BBCWW North America.
