Woody Allen’s comedy for Amazon Prime Video is called Crisis in Six Scenes, and sees the controversial writer-director appearing on-screen alongside Miley Cyrus.

Amazon has released a trailer that reveals the show will be made available to subscribers on September 30. This marks the first time Allen has made a show for television.

The six-part series will be set in the 1960s and follows a middle class suburban family whose home is turned upside down by a guest. Singer Cyrus and Elaine May will star.

Amazon Studios first revealed it was working with Annie Hall director Allen in January 2015, with Allen claiming he was “not sure where to begin”. In May that year, he claimed making a TV series was a “catastrophic mistake” and a “cosmic embarrassment”.

However, it is now ready for distribution.

Amazon committed to exclusively distributing Allen’s next movie, a romantic comedy starring Steve Carrell, in North America last February.

In related news, Amazon has cancelled one of its first original series, Alpha House, after two seasons.
