Zinc CEO Wood stepping down

Mark Wood is leaving his post as CEO of Zinc Media, which is the new trading name of UK production group Ten Alps.

Mark WoodWood (pictured) leaves his post with immediate effect, according to a company statement released to investors.

The former chief executive of ITN Productions will also leave his director post, but will continue to act as an advisor. He has been with Zinc for 18 months.

“The Company has no immediate intentions to appoint a new CEO,” the firm said. In the interim, chairman Peter Bertram will “spend more time in the business” and CFO Dala Galan will add more responsibilities.

“We thank Mark for his contributions to the group and wish him ever success in his future endeavours,” said Bertram.

This comes after Ten Alps restructured its business at the end of February, establishing Zinc Media as an overarching parent brand to its prodcos, namely Blakeway, Brook Lapping, Films of Record and Reef Television.

The AIM-listed firm recapitalised after a period of financial instability, with co-founder Bob Geldof, exiting and former Channel 4 chairman Luke Johnson coming in. The firm went on to acquire Straker Films in April.

Geldof founded Ten Alps back in 1999.
