Gordon Ramsay creates prodco, All3 JV

Formats-logo-460_2GORDON_RAMSAY_PLATES_DPS-resizeCelebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has created a studio and scored a joint venture production pact with All3Media.

Studio Ramsay will focus on developing and producing unscripted and scripted television.

According to a spokesperson, the prodco’s establishment does not effect Ramsay’s existing prodco, One Potato Two Potato, which is operated as a joint venture with All3-owned Optomen Television.

Studio Ramsay will operate as a fully independent company that Ramsay solely owns. The focus will be on formats and developing talent, with the scripted arm aiming to create shows based around food-related themes.

As part of the joint venture, Ramsay will work closely with Objective Media Group CEO Layla Smith in the UK, and with All3Media America chief exec Greg Lipstone in the US.

Ramsay, whose empire spans 30 restaurants, numerous TV series and publishing, is best known in the US for shows such as Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef and Kitchen Nightmares, the latter of which debuted in 2005 as remake of the ITV cooking format of the same name and ended in 2014 after mutliple seasons in the UK and US, where it played as a format on Channel 4 and Fox respectively.

“We really look forward to continuing our relationship with Gordon, working alongside him as he establishes and grows his new production company, Studio Ramsay,” said Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media. “He is a world class talent with a phenomenal record of hit TV series.”

Ramsay said the developments gave his team “the opportunity to expand creatively on a global scale”.
