Blim takes 300 hours from RTVE

New Latin American SVOD service Blim has acquired more than 300 hours of programming from the commercial arm of Spanish pubcaster RTVE.

The deal hands Grupo Televisa-owned Blim 18 dramas, including exclusive Latin American streaming rights to Los Misterios de Laura (The Mysteries of Laura), El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Ministry of Time) and Carlos, Rey Emperador (Carlos, Emperor King).

“This new window at Blim allows RTVE to give even more visibility to our productions,” said Rafael Bardem, deputy director of sales at RTVE.

Blim general director Carlos Sandoval said the shows fitted with the service’s strategy to “offer high quality content” to its subscribers.

The platform has scored deals with the likes of BBC Worldwide and 9 Story Media, and it recently added programming from its parent Televisa that had previously gone out on SVOD rival Netflix.

Blim was established in February as an alternative to Netflix and Claro Video.
