Our latest fortnightly feature in association with Parrot Analytics reveals the most in-demand shows from another European territory.

Switching attention from the UK to France, shows Orange is the New Black and The Walking Dead are trending in France.

The most popular shows in mainland Europe country tally with recorded demand in other regional territories currently – The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones rule the roost.

With Robert Kirkman’s zombie drama hitting a climactic, shocking note in its season six finale, there was little doubt the ratings mega-hit would lead the rankings, though our stats cover the week of episode 15. The Walking Dead returns in October, with companion series Fear the Walking Dead replacing it for now.

Game of Thrones returns this month, and with huge debate about the fates of key characters raging, there is a good chance the HBO epic fantasy will take the top

spot in coming weeks.

An interesting facet of the overall chart shows that youth-skewed drama generates strong demand numbers.

Pretty Little Liars, in fourth place, just trails third place Vikings, with the increasingly influential CW series The 100, Teen Wolf and Arrow all in the top ten.

On the digital front, Netflix’s impact in France is clear. Only Hulu’s Stephen King adaptation 11.22.63 stops the SVOD platform from taking a clean sweep of the top ten.

Orange is the New Black registers more than 1.6 million demand expressions ahead of second-placed Marvel’s Daredevils, with serialised dramas including Narcos and Sense8 also placing. Only Netflix acquisition Star Wars: The Clone Wars highlights demand among younger demographics.
