Globo plans Dangerous Liaisons in Cannes

Scripted-logo-460_2Dangerous LiaisonsBrazilian media giant Globo will launch its 4K drama Dangerous Liaisons in Cannes.

The adaptation of the classic historical novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos will go out as a miniseries on Globo in Brazil.

The Globo series, Ligações Perigosas, relocated the action from pre-Revolution Paris to a fictional Brazilian city in the 1920s and was shot in Rio de Janeiro, Argentina, and Uruguay.

It proved popular on Globo when it launched this January.

The Globo sales arm will launch it internationally in Cannes.

Globo will have a full line-up of novellas and sports content at MIPTV and is also expanding its sales and production activities.

It recently announcing it was moving into making drama specifically for the international market. Its first effort will be a Spanish-language version of Brazilian drama Supermax.
