Mediaset VOD net bags Prisoners of War exclusive

Scripted-logo-460_2HatufimMediaset’s Italian VOD service, Infinity, has bagged exclusive first window rights to Israeli thriller drama Prisoners of War.

Distributor Keshet International claims this will be the first time a Hebrew-language show will air in Italy.

“We are pleased to be working with Keshet International, to be the first to finally bring this widely critically acclaimed TV series to the Italian public,” said Infinity’s director, Chiara Tosato.

“Infinity has become the home of quality content for our viewers and Prisoners of War is a perfect example of our constant commitment to quality.”

In Israeli, the Gideon Raff-created show’s season two finale peaked at a 47.9% share. It has been sold into more than 20 territories, including the UK and French-speakign Europe.

This week, Star India became the latest broadcaster to order a local remake of the format, which is best known for spawning Showtime’s

Infinity will debut Prisoners over the summer. The platform has more than 6,000 shows, including movies, series and kids content.
