Boat Rocker lands Xploration science shows

Newly-established Boat Rocker Rights has picked up rights to programmes in the Xploration Station science block, which runs on Fox’s local stations in the US.

The deal gives Boat Rocker a pair of new shows from Steve Rotfeld Productions, Xploration DIY Sci and Xploration Nature Knows Best.

It will also take two returning shows from the pop-science block to market, Philippe Cousteau’s Xploration Awesome Planet, and Xploration Outer Space.

Each of the series is 26x26mins and Boat Rocker has full international rights, excluding the US.

“The Xploration Station block is not only an entertaining experience, but is quickly becoming the definitive brand of science-themed content across US and international television,” said Jon Rutherford, president, distribution, Boat Rocker Rights.

He added: “Steve Rotfeld and his team are producing as much, if not more, premium science-related content than any other entity in the US, and we are excited to continue showcasing their exceptional work to audiences around the globe.”

Rotfeld said: “[Boat Rocker] understand the worldwide marketplace for our science content, and are the perfect company to take Xploration Station to even higher levels.”

Boat Rocker is the recently founded distribution arm of Canada’s Boat Rocker Media, which was formed recently out of Temple Street Productions and makes series including Orphan Black.
