Room, Ex Machina prodco hires for int’l push

Scripted-logo-460_2New York-based film and TV distributor A24 has hired an executive to runs its international business.

Sasha Lloyd, a media-focused executive formerly of investment bank Goldman Sachs, has joined the firm and will work out of its East Coast head office.

A24 is behind films such as 2015’s Room and Ex Machina, NBC comedy The Carmichael Show and USA Network’s Playing House.

While at Goldman Sachs, Lloyd’s clients included Lionsgate Entertainment, The Weinstein Company and DNA Films. More recently, she co-founded media-focused boutique investment banking firm GHL & Company (now rebranded as Solar Entertainment).

While at Solar, she led a US$750 million recapitalisation of Twilight trilogy firm Summit Entertainment, which is now a subsidiary of Lionsgate. Lloyd also advised on Colony Capital’s acquisition of the Miramax library from The Walt Disney Company.

“Sasha is a very exciting addition to the A24 family,” the firm said in a statement. “We have collaborated with her previously, and she has always impressed us with her expertise, ingenuity, and intelligence. She is exactly the kind of dynamic executive we want to be part of the company as we continue to grow.”
