New German indie teams with EuropaCorp

Germany industry veterans Philipp Kreuzer and Jörg Schulze have created Maze Pictures, a new German-based indie producer.

Maze’s launch slate includes shows with Rupert Everett and Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp Television.

Berlin-based Schulze is a seasoned producer and his credits include documentary Into Great Silence and feature film The Silence.

Munich-based Kreuzer has been at the Bavaria Film Group for the past decade as a producer and also on the business side, putting together financing and distribution. His credits include Andy Serkiss movie Death of a Superhero.

The Maze development slate covers series and features.

The series with EuropaCorp is The Crimson Rivers, a grisly murder thriller adaptation of the Jean-Christophe Grangé novel.

Other projects in the works include Rupert Everett’s directorial debut The Happy Prince starring Colin Firth with BBC Films, Lionsgate UK, Beta Cinema and Concorde Film.

There is also Heirs of the Night with NDR/KIKA, ZDF Enterprises and Hamster Film.

Schulze said: “With our new company, we have brought together our network of filmmakers, creatives and partners in Germany and abroad. We aim to pursue long-term partnerships to create relevant and original content for cinema and TV, to entertain and inspire both national and international audiences.”
