Universal Channel requires Chicago Med
UK pay TV network Universal Channel has bought new season US medical drama Chicago Med.
The Dick Wolf-produced show will debut on the NBCUniversal International Networks-sold show after a deal with the latter’s sister division, NBCU International Distribution.
The show is set in a state-of-the-art Chicago trauma centre, and is part of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.
The show recently debuted on NBC in the US and was the number one-rated scripted show that night among adults 18-49.
Universal Channel plans to launch it next year.
“With the strength of characters at its heart, Chicago Med is a fantastic addition to our character-driven slate,” said Colin McLeod, managing director, UK and emerging markets, NBCUniversal International Networks.
