Showtime to explore Dark Net
US cable channel Showtime has commissioned an eight-part docuseries about the darker recesses of the internet.
Dark Net will debut on January 21, 2016, in an 11pm slot, with each episode running to a half-hour.
The show plans to reveal “a more ominous and disturbing perspective of a digitally connected world where our every action is collected and stored”. This will include investigation into online cults, pornography, digital warfare, bio-hacking and cyber-kidnapping.
Dark Net comes from Vocativ and is executive produced by the company’s Danna Rabin and Vivian Schiller, and David Shadrack Smith for Part2 Pictures.
