Anglo-Chinese production and distribution group IPCN has struck a deal with Scotland’s STV, and the pair will produce a version of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for the Chinese market.
STV Productions created the format, which goes out on the BBC in the UK. The Chinese version, Journey to the Precious, will be shot in London with celebrities from China flying in to compete. They will haggle for antique items, bartering with vendors to get the best price for the object in question.
The Chinese format has been developed by IPCN’s CEO Rebecca Yang and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip executive producer Andrew Robertson, and Liam Hamilton, STV’s deputy drector of content.
IPCN’s Shanghai-based production team will shoot the show in London together with STV’s production team.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with IPCN and we’re positive that Chinese audiences will love the excitement of hitting the road in the UK with celebrities who are familiar to them,” added Hamilton. “Viewers will love watching the stars as they haggle their way along the antiques trail as they track down weird and wonderful bargains.”
IPCN produces the Chinese versions of formats including The Secret Millionaire, Supernanny and China’s Next Top Model. The broadcaster for Journey to the Precious was not announced.
