News brief: ZED bags Kino Lorber docs, films

French distributor ZED has bagged select documentaries and classic films from the Kino Lorber library.

The agreement with the US-based Kino Lorber includes Sandy McLeod’s Seeds of Time and 1970 doc King: A Filmed Record… Montgomery to Memphis and restored titles such as D.W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation and Fritz Lang noir Scarlet Street.

ZED, which operates in TV and film, will handle distribution in Europe.
