Pilgrim Studios launches 1620 D2C digital platform

1620Media_grab3US reality TV prodco Pilgrim Studios has launched a direct-to-consumer digital platform, 1620 Media.

Pilgrim, run by veteran producer Craig Piligian, has rolled out the platform with six original series. The company said that 1620 will be programmed with scripted and unscripted fare as well as animation. Content will run from under one minute per episode to five minutes.

Seven more original shows will be released later this month and through November and 1620 said it is developing new ideas with notable talent from the sports, comedy and design worlds.

The content can be viewed at a dedicated site, 1620media.com, as well as via YouTube. Each series will have its own YouTube channel.

Piligian said: “Pilgrim is always looking for new ways to produce and showcase quality content. With 1620 Media, we’re exploring a lot of new territory and working with a wide range of talent to create sharp, entertaining short-form programming.”

1620Media_grab1The launch slate includes Inside the Extras Studio, a satirical look at the world of TV extras with Barry Bostwick (Scandal). In The Intersection, meanwhile, model and TV host Nikki Leigh, asks strangers probing questions at traffic hotspots.

Explained In Children’s Drawings will see kids asked questions about the world and their answers depicted in animated form

Comedy series The Real Cat Therapist Of Beverly Hills will feature a feline therapist and The Mixology Guys will be a reality show set in the world of bar tending.
