BBC Two gets in Vogue

UK terrestrial BBC Two has commissioned an observational documentary about British fashion magazine Vogue as it nears its centenary year.

Simon Chinn’s Lightbox will produce the 2x60mins series in association with Richard Macer’s Platform Productions.

The doc will explore the magazine’s role and influence in the UK, with filming taking place at fashion shows around the world. It’s scheduled to air next year, when the title turns 100.

UK programming funding specialist Drive is overseeing international distribution and coproduction rights.

The BBC’s acting head of documentary commissioning Maxine Watson ordered the show, with Katie Buchanan attached as executive producer.

Producer Lightbox is one the UK indies that has landed investment from terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4’s Growth Fund.
