AwesomenessTV scores DHX network deal

Multiplatform content firm AwesomenessTV is to produce programming for DHX Media’s Canadian kids television channel under terms of a new pact.

US-based Awesomeness will create programming for Family Channel, which DHX will then shop on the international market.

The pact also includes licensing and merchandising outside the US.

Furthermore, Family Channel parent DHX Television has licensed three Awesomeness series for the network: Nickelodeon’s 40x30mins sketch show AwesomenessTV, 26x30mins reality makeover show Make Me Over, and 26x30mins competitive cheerleading docu-series Cheerleaders.

“We’re actively pursuing unique programming formats to provide an authentic lineup for our audience, ensuring the content is both engaging and entertaining,” said Joe Tedesco, senior VP and general manager, DHX Television.

“AwesomenessTV has been firing on all platforms and understands our audience. Viewers are easily able to connect with the programming through multiple entry points and we are thrilled to be creating new series together that will appeal to our audience and attract new viewers.”
