Educational content-focused app Hopster is to launch internationally through Apple TV.
The subscription on-demand platform, which offers hundreds of preschool programmes, launched in the UK on Apple TV in May, and will now go out in more than 100 territories. It is already live in Australia, the Middle East, southeast Asia and India.
In the core UK market, Hopster has relaunched Magic Light Pictures family films The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, and in August will add Room on the Broom. This makes Hopster the only kids SVOD service in the UK with the three titles available to stream.
Former Viacom International Media Networks executive Nick Walters (pictured) launched Hopster in 2013, and this year secured new funding to hlp with the international roll-out and new acqusitions.
“The kids VOD space is really heating up, and we’re excited to be leading the charge with everything that’s happening at Hopster HQ,” said Walters.
“Providing a brilliant experience across Apple’s mobile devices has been essential to our growth, and bringing it to life on Apple TV offers even better value to Apple families – especially as everything is included in one easy subscription.”
Hopster has also hired Chirs Brooke from quib.ly to become its chief technology officer and MADE.com’s Jonathan Howell as technical board advisor.
