Following the Cancun, Mexico-based event’s launch last year, the 2015 edition will be held on November 18-20, with what Reed MIDEM describes as an “expanded” line-up.
Fifty-one buyers from 16 countries such as Brazil, Canada and the US are confirmed at this stage, which compares to 38 from 14 countries at the 2014 event.
New distributors confirmed include All3Media International, BBC Worldwide, Paramount, Cisneros Media Distribution and Telemundo Internacional.
Returning sales firms include FremantleMedia International, Viacom International Media Networks and A&E Networks International.
Reed MIDEM claims feedback for the 2014 event was “universally positive” and quoted a 98% satisfaction rate.
“MIPCancun has shown that there is a real necessity for sellers to come together with acquisition executives at a concentrated, highly-focused event that provides them with the time to understand what buyers are really looking for, particularly as a number of those Lat Am buyers do not yet attend our main MIPTV and MIPCOM events,” said Ted Baracos, director of market development at Reed MIDEM’s television division.
