Seven, Scripps, Shaw join Windfall series

Big KitchensAustralia’s Seven Network, Scripps Networks UK & EMEA and Food Network in Canada are all attached to a new 13x30mins lifestyle series from British indie Windfall Films.

Big Kitchens will look at the logistics, cuisine and characters at some of the world’s biggest and most extreme restaurants, including an Emirate Airlines kitchen with more than 500 chiefs that produces 170,000 meals a day, and the MGM Bellagio in Las Vegas that serves more than 3,950 rooms.

Scripps has acquired the show for Travel Channel in the UK and EMEA, while Shaw-backed Food Network has rights in Canada and Seven takes exclusive Australian rights.

“This series will offer unprecedented insight into the epic scale of the world’s biggest food operations and satisfy viewers’ hunger for engaging and entertaining observational documentary programming,” said Windfall’s creative director and executive producer, Carlo Massarella, who is overseeing the series.
