Endemol Shine remaking NBC format in Holland

Lipstick-Jungle-Dutch-imageDutch free-TV broadcaster SBS has ordered a local version Lipstick Jungle, the US drama series from Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell.

In the US the show ran on NBC for two seasons starting in 2008.

NBCUniversal International Formats distributes the format and struck the SBS deal.

The Dutch broadcaster will run the local version, Meiden van de Herengracht, on its Net5 channel. It will launch this autumn.

Endemol Shine Netherlands will produce the series and production on the 8x60mins gets underway this month. The show follows the personal and professional lives of three successful female friends.

Ana Henriques, channel manager, Net5 said: “We are really proud that we will air the Dutch remake of the American format Lipstick Jungle this fall. We consider this series to be a perfect fit with Net5.”
