BroadbandTV, HuffPo launch video network

RTL-backed multichannel network BroadbandTV has partnered with the Huffington Post to launch a “next-generation online video journalism network”.

Outspeak will allow journalists and content creators to tell their stories across both companies’ platforms, with selected content makers to be given the chance to develop their channels into original content series co-produced with Outspeak.

BroadbandTV and the Huffington Post said they have made a “multi-million dollar investment” to develop the Outspeak brand.

“With the launch of Outspeak we’re thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate with emerging talent and creators to further build our presence on YouTube,” said Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post.

Shahrzad Rafati, founder and CEO of BroadbandTV. said: “We’re giving a voice to everyone, in the hope to entertain, inform and inspire… Our combined efforts to put news in the hands of millennials has the potential to change news as we know it.”

Creators interested in joining the Outspeak network can do so by visiting the Outspeak website. BroadbandTV and The Huffington Post said they also plan to reach out to potential partners directly.
