Lifetime making Full House TV movie

Days after the news that Netflix is rebooting Full House, it has emerged that cable net Lifetime is making a TV movie about the classic US comedy series.

Lifetime has form in the TV-series-based TV movie, having made Unauthorized Saved By the Bell, a one-off based on the eponymous comedy series.

The Hollywood reporter broke the news that A+E’s Lifetime is now prepping The Unauthorized Full House Story (WT).

It will look behind the scenes at Full House and explore the real-life stories of key cast members. Production and delivery dates are not known.

The Netflix reboot, Fuller House, will bow on the streaming service next year.

Fuller House will feature several of the original cast and run to 13 episodes. In the new series, family and friends again rally around to look after the next generation’s kids.

Full House ran for eight seasons and almost 200 episodes on US broadcast network ABC in the 1980s and 1990s. It follows a widowed father, his best friend and brother in-law as they raise a family of three daughters.
