Viacom replaces Blink channel with Paramount

Viacom International Media Networks has withdrawn Blink!, the channel that started out as a JV with Endemol, from the Polish market and replaced the service with Paramount Channel HD.

Paramount Channel HD is the second HD service launches by VIMN in Poland, following the debut of Comedy Central HD last year.

General entertainment channel Blink! Began broadcasting in 2011 and aired a mix of content, including programming previously aired on Viva Polska.

Satellite platforms Cyfrowy Polsat, nc+ and Orange have added Paramount Channel HD to their line-ups, while cable operator Multimedia Polska is offering Paramount Channel HD on its digital packages.

VIMN and Endemol Shine (then just ‘Endemol’) launched Blink! with much fanfare in 2011.

At time they said it would roll out internationally, but it only launched in Poland. The channel rolled out with series including sitcom Hot in Cleveland and reality formats including Make Me A Supermodel and Fear Factor.

Endemol Shine told TBI that it had an output deal with VIMN, but that it had expired two years ago.
