Viasat Norway viewers will C More Sport

Viasat’s direct-to-home satellite platform in Norway will carry C More’s sports channels from April 6.

Viasat will offer the main C More sport channels – C More Fotball HD and C More Live HD – as well event channel C More Live 2-4, and will have access to the 2015 and 2016 seasons of Tippeligaen, Norway’s top tier football league.

Viasat will also offer C More Hockey, C More Extreme and C More Tennis as over-the-top channels, available on internet-connected Viasat set-top boxes.

“Tippeligaen is a new ace in Viasat’s hand. Previously we have had the rights for UEFA Champions League for our channels, as well as distributing Barclays Premier League coverage in the DTH satellite market, but now we have even better cards to play with,” said Vegard Klubbenes Drogseth, CEO of Viasat Norway.

“Viasat’s aim is to be a market leading provider of attractive sports channels. Sport in general, and football in particular, is of significant importance to our customers. Therefore we’re very proud to have secured this agreement,” added Drogseth.

Currently Viasat’s sports offering consists of Viasat’s own channels – Viasat Sport HD, Viasat Fotball HD, Viasat Motor HD, Viasat Hockey HD and Viasat Golf HD – as well as TV2 Sportskanalen and the sports package TV Sport Premium HD.

The agreement with C More will give Viasat’s customers access to 17 dedicated sports channels.
