TF1 grabs VOD rights to Stan Lee toon

French commercial channel TF1 has grabbed on-demand rights to Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.

The deal is one of several distributor Genius Brand International has secured and hands TF1 all French-speaking Europe VOD, SVOD and EST rights to the superhero series.

Teletoon in Canada has acquired local rights, while Sony-owned CSC Media in the UK has taken free-to-air rights for its Pop Channel. The Movie Partnership is representing all UK rights.

In Lebanon, Telepictures Promoters has bought FTA rights for Arabic-speaking MENA countries for Mighty 7 and Thomas Edison’s Secret lab.

Finally, E-Vision in the United Arab Emirates has acquired pay rights to the latter.

GBI hired former FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment exec Andrew Berman to lead its sales last year.
