French pubcaster France Télévisions has acquired Australian drama series Secrets & Lies from Cineflix Rights.
The six-part one-hour drama will air on the France 2 channel. A psychological thriller, the series follows a family man who finds himself accused of the murder of a young boy.
It was originally produced for free-to-air channel Network Ten in Australia and is made by Hoodlum.
Cineflix sells it internationally and the French deal follows agreements with broadcasters including Channel 5 in the UK, CBC in Canada, RTL in the Netherlands and SVT in Sweden.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Secrets & Lies is exactly the kind of high-quality, character-driven series which works so well with audiences around the world.”
He added: “This latest deal with France 2 follows the UK, US, Canada, and Scandinavian deals and we’re anticipating further sales as we lead up to MIPTV.”
