US studio Legendary Television has appointed a WME talent agent as its president of scripted.
Veteran literary agent Lauren Heller Whitney will take up the post at the Hollywood studio after Legendary president Bruce Rosenblum carried out a long search.
Previous top scripted executive Peter Johnson, who is executive VP, has extended his contract until 2017 and will now report to Whitney, who in turn reports to Rosenblum.
Whitney joins from WME, where she represented TV writers and producers and specialised in IP development. She also worked at the William Morris Agency.
Parent Legendary Entertainment received a US$250 million cash injection from Japan’s SoftBank in October last year.
