New players set for MIP Digital Fronts

The second MIP Digital Fronts will include the likes of AwesomenessTV, Collective Digital Studio and New Form Digital.

Machinima, Screen Australia and Vox Media will also present their latest digital content wares at the event, which debuted last year during MIPTV.

This year’s event, which runs from April 15-16 in the Cannes’ Palais des Festivals, will also see YouTube, Dailymotion, Vice Media and Maker Studios returning.

The fronts were launched in order to showcase new digital talent and online productions to content buyers, distributors and producers. The event also includes interviews with producers and creative executives, plus appearances from YouTube talent, and match-making events.

“The fact that our original MIP Digital Fronts partners are returning in year two and have been joined by other leading multi-platform creator networks, underlines the growing importance of the global stage for original online content and the need to create bridges with the broader entertainment ecosystem,” said Laurine Garaude, director of television at Reed MIDEM.

A parallel event, MIP Digital Talks, will this year accompany the event, addressing the headline topic of ‘The Millennial Shift’. Furthermore, a business incubation initiative bringing together digital studios and innovative technologies, is launching too.
