Disney buys Superights’ Boyster

Disney has acquired French-produced animated series Boyster for its channels in Japan, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The cartoon comedy series was produced by French studio Je Suis Bien Content for Disney EMEA and French pubcaster France Télévisions.

The series follows the adventures of a boy who is half-human, half-oyster.

France-based distributor Superights has international rights and struck the new Disney deal. It is run by former M6 kids boss Morgann Favennec.

She said: “We are extremely proud to represent such a unique series, French animation at its best, and thrilled by the worldwide acclaim it has been receiving.”

She added that other deals are in the offing for the kids series.
