Syfy magnifies Close Up Kings

US cable channel Syfy has bought UK-Canadian magic series Close Up Kings.

The deal with Entertainment One Television International, which sells the show globally, will see the 8x60mins show broadcast on the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment channel this year.

Discovery Channel in EMEA first commissioned UK-based Zig Zag Productions and Canada’s Yap Films to create the show for feeds in 2013.

The series follows three sleight-of-hand artists from New York that attempt to outperform each other as they travel across the US.

Syfy has previously acquired Zig Zag-produced Channel 4 magic series Troy: Street Magic.
