Netflix is widely rumoured to be preparing to launch in South Africa this year or next.
The US-listed streaming service recently outlined plans to ramp up its international expansion. It said it will complete the process within two years, extending its footprint from about 50 to about 200 territories.
Tech site MyBroadband claimed to have confirmation that a South Africa launch will happen amid several reports that Netflix plans to roll out in South Africa.
A spokesman reiterated the wider international launch plans, but would not comment directly on the South African rumours.
Netflix said that with the international roll out complete within two years, its international services will generate a profit by 2017.
