Raft of Asian deals for Breakthrough

Canada-based producer and distributor Breakthrough Entertainment has struck a raft of Asian deals ahead of the ATF market in Singapore, which kicks off later this week.

napkinman_1National Geographic has taken pan-Asian rights to travel series Rustic Adventures: Italy, which it will show on its Nat Geo People channel.

On the kids side, Discovery has bought another season of Dino Dan for Asia-Pac, True in Thailand has picked up preschool series My Big Big Friend and MediaCorp in Singapore has acquired The Adventures of Napkin Man (pictured).

In Indonesia, B Channel has taken Zerby Derby, as has MBC in South Korea. In Hong Kong, free-to-air broadcaster TVB has taken Breakthrough’s Think Big.

ATF starts on December 9. “We are looking forward to meeting with our broadcast partners and to forging new relationships while at ATF,” said Kate Blank, director, international distribution for Breakthrough.

She added: “We are also thrilled to be introducing our newest children’s edu-tainment series Sports Lab at ATF. A series designed to help kids discover the science behind the sports they play, Sports Lab will open kids’ eyes to a far richer understanding and appreciation of the games they love.”
