News brief: Comedy Central bringing The Kumars to Asia

The Asian feed of Comedy Central has picked up seven seasons of UK-produced comedy series The Kumars at No. 42.

The Viacom channel will show the existing seven series of the comedy, which follows a British-Asian family, before debuting a the new season of the show in the New Year.

In the UK the show originally ran on the BBC, but earlier this year pay TV broadcaster BSkyB said it was bringing back the popular sitcom-come-chatshow and ordered a new six-episode series. It is produced and distributed by UK indie Hat Trick.
