October Films hires US factual boss

UK indie producer October Films has hired Chris Muckle (pictured) as head of US factual.

Muckle joins from Raw, the factual producer bought by Discovery Communications, where his credits included Gold Rush, Jungle Gold and the Unexplained Files.

Matt Robins, creative director, October Films said: “If I were to write a list of the creative talent best equipped to drive October’s growth in the US and beyond for the foreseeable future, there would be one name on it. Luckily that name is Chris Muckle.”

Muckle’s appointment follows shortly after the company hired Jos Cushing as executive producer.

October Films’ recent US productions include Obsession: Dark Desires, for Discovery’s ID channel, Outrageous Acts of Science for Discovery Science and World War 2 From Space for History.
