Canal+ plots 20-country launch for African A+

Canal+’s new sub-Saharan African channel, A+, will launch in 20  countries in western and central Africa on Friday as part of the Canalsat bouquet.

A+ will be available exclusively on Canalsat for CFA5,000 (US$9.79) a month.

A+ will offer a mix programming aimed at a mass market audience, including series in French, English, Portuguese and the Wolof language, widely spoken in Senegal. Series on the channel include Chroniques Africaines, Tundu Wundu, C’est la Vie, Inkaba and Kings Casino. All shows will be produced or dubbed in French.

Other shows to be aired include talent shows Talent Island Africa and Star Chef and magazine show Blackamorphoses.

A+ will also show international and Afro-American movies as well as Nollywood titles including Le Crocodile du Botswanga, Madame Brouette and Passion Dévorante.
