Viacom sells 1,000 Nick hours in Lat Am

Viacom International Media Networks has sold 1,000 hours of Nickelodeon programming to channels across Latin America.

Long-standing Mexican buyer Televisa has acquired 650 exclusive episodes of shows such as Every Witch Way and The Haunted Hathaways, while in Chile Megavision has bought eight Nick telemovies, UCVTV has renewed a Nick Jr. branded block agreement and state-owned broadcaster TV Nacional has acquired Kung Fu Panda (pictured).

The Chilean deals buck a trend that has seen free-to air channels in the territory reduce time allotted to kids and teen programming, according to VIMN, Viacom’s international arm.

Additionally, Colombia Teleantoquia and CityTV, Honduras’ TV Hondurena, Costa Rica’s Canal 7, Nicaragua’s Telenica and Venezuela’s Venevision all scored separate deals with VIMN.
