News brief: Your Family launches Slovak channel

Germany’s Your Family Entertainment has hooked up with Bratislava-based JOJ Group to launch a kids channel based on the former’s network RiC.

RiK will be a sister channel of RiC, which your Family launched in Germany in 2012.

YFE and JOJ claim RiK will be the first Slovak-language children’s channel. It will air European animation shows such as Fixi & Fox and live-action shows including Enid Blyton and Swiss Family Robinson.

“This new service will combine the very best ingredients of localisation and relevance to Slovakia and world class international program content, said” YFE’s executive VP Paul Robinson, the fomer Disney and KidsCo boss recently brought on board to take YFE’s kids channels to new markets.
