Blue Ant brings nature and wildlife to Cannes

NomadsToronto-based distributor Blue Ant International has picked up a raft of new nature and wildlife programming that it will launch at MIPCOM.

New series for the market include 4K offerings Nomads of the Serengeti and Ol Pejeta Diaries.

In five-part Nomads of the Serengeti, veteran safari guide Jean Du Plessis takes viewers on tour through the east African savannah. One-off Ol Pejeta Diaries, meanwhile, looks at the work of the staff in the Ol Pejeta game reserve.

Other wildlife titles added to Blue Ant’s 1,400-hour catalogue include 4x60mins palaeontolgy series Dino Hunt, 4x30mins volcano show Volcanic Odysseys and 8x30mins Great Lakes Wild, about the animals that live by America’s Great Lakes.

The 50 hours of nature and wildlife will be part of Blue Ant’s wider MIPCOM slate. It will also roll out several new reality and lifestyle titles at the market.

The slate includes 13x60mins Backyard Bounty, in which a pair of hosts search out valuable items from private collections, garage sales and old barns.

It also has 10x60mins Paranormal Survivor, about people’s ghostly experiences, and Wild Ride, a 16x30mins series about backpackers setting out on a 3,000km trip to go to a Full Moon Party in Thailand.
