Tricon playing it for laughs with Garfunkel and Oates

Tricon Films & Television will launch IFC comedy series Garfunkel and Oates at MIPCOM.

The distributor has a deal with IFC to sell its scripted comedy and Garfunkel and Oates has come out of that agreement.

The series stars Riki Lindhome (New Girl) and Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory) as comedy folk singers as they ‘navigate love, life and work’.

Guest stars in the 8x30mins first season included Ben Kingsley and comedian Chris Hardwick and the band’s partial namesake John Oates.

Tricon already shops IFC comedies The Spoils of Babylon, Maron and Comedy Bang! Bang!
