AOL orders James Franco comedy web series

Hollywood actor James Franco is making a ten-part comedy series for AOL as part of the web giant’s Originals programme.

Making a Scene with James Franco will follow the actor as he and his creative team act out scenes inspired by classic big-screen moments, combing some and taking an irreverent twist on others.

Scenes from movies including The Godfather, Reservoir Dogs and Dirty Dancing will get the comedy treatment from Franco and his team.

AOL will release a three-episode batch of Making a Scene with James Franco episodes next week (September 17) with the remainder released in two further batches at an as yet unannounced date.

Franco’s Rabbit Bandini Productions will make the series with Trium Entertainment, the prodco run by Mark Koops and Eric Day, who count The Office and Ugly Betty among their credits.
