BBC Knowledge expands into Taiwan

Thematic factual channel BBC Knowledge HD is launching on four cable platforms in Taiwan.

The network is joining the KBRO, TFM, Cable Giant and Ping Nan services, and this marks the first time the BBC brand’s premium factual and natural history shows will launch in Taiwan in high definition.

“We have seen consistent positive growth in the demand for BBC Worldwide’s content across Taiwan,” said Pierre Cheung, VP and general manager, Greater China for BBC Worldwide, the BBC’s commercial arm.

Following launch, the platforms will offer subscribers shows such as Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan (pictured) and Operation Snow Tiger

BBC Knowledge, which along with BBC Brit and BBC First are considered premium BBCWW channels brands, will be offered via the HD 99 package across all four operators.
