Telemundo launches block in Asia

US Hispanic network Telemundo is launching a two-hour block on the female-skewing cable net Diva in Asia.

Both channels are part of NBCUniversal. The ‘DIVA presents Telemundo’ block will start next week. It will run late afternoon to early evening and kick off with US-produced telenovelas Aurora and Cruel Love (Perro Amor).

Both shows will be reversioned into English from their original Spanish.

“Diva celebrates women and Telemundo defines passion – what better combination to appeal to our core female audience?” said Christine Fellowes, managing director, Asia-Pacific, Universal Networks International.

Telemundo, which has a full-fledged programme sales division, launched a dedicated channel in Africa last year.
